The Dripify MCP Server connects Dripify with AI assistants, allowing you to access your Dripify data and perform supported actions through natural conversation. View your campaigns and lead lists, find leads, or upload new leads to your campaigns — simply by asking your AI assistant in plain language.
In this article, we'll explain what the Dripify MCP Server can do, how to connect it to your AI assistant, and how to start using it.
What is MCP?
MCP (Model Context Protocol) allows AI assistants to connect to external tools and data sources.
When you connect the Dripify MCP Server to a supported AI assistant, the assistant can use the available Dripify tools to retrieve information from your account or perform supported actions based on your requests.
You don't need to know API commands or the names of individual MCP tools. You can simply describe what you need in plain language.
What can you do with the Dripify MCP Server?
The current version of the Dripify MCP Server allows your AI assistant to:
View campaigns — see your Dripify campaigns, their statuses, and which campaigns are currently active.
View campaign lead lists — see the lead lists within a campaign, including the total number of leads and how many are left to collect.
Search for leads — find leads in your Dripify account by email address or LinkedIn profile URL.
Upload leads — add up to 1,000 LinkedIn profiles to a campaign as a new lead list.
The first three are read-only actions, meaning your AI assistant only retrieves information from Dripify. Uploading leads is a write action because it creates a new lead list in your account.
Before you connect
To connect the Dripify MCP Server, you need:
an active Pro or Advanced Dripify plan;
your Dripify API key;
the Dripify MCP Server address;
an AI assistant or client that supports connecting to an MCP server.
The Dripify MCP Server address is:
https://app.dripify.com/api/v1/mcp
Get your Dripify API key
The MCP Server uses the same API key as the Dripify Open API to authenticate your account.
In your Dripify account:
Go to Settings → Integrations → API Key.
Generate an API key if you don't already have one.
You'll use this key to authenticate the connection between your AI client and Dripify. Follow the setup instructions for your AI client below.
💡 We're planning to add OAuth authentication in a future release. API key authentication will continue to be supported.
Connect Dripify MCP to Claude
Option 1. Connect Dripify to Claude with a custom connector
This method is currently available on Claude Desktop only. It also requires the Request headers section, which is currently in beta and may not be available to all users.
Open the Customize tab in Claude.
2. Select Connectors and click Add.
3. Select Add custom connector.
4. Enter:
Name for your connector, for example, Dripify.
Dripify MCP Server address:
https://app.dripify.com/api/v1/mcp
Then click Continue.
5. Configure the connection:
Under Authentication, select No sign-in.
Under Request headers, add a new header.
Enter X-Api-Key as the header name.
Paste your Dripify API key into the value field.
Mark the header as Required.
Complete the setup.
Once connected, Dripify will appear under Customize → Connectors → Yours.
6. Set tool permissions in Claude
Once Dripify is connected, you can configure permissions for the available tools.
The current Dripify tools are grouped as:
Read-only tools:
List a campaign's lead lists
List campaigns
Search a lead
Write/delete tools:
Upload leads to a campaign
Set Read-only tools to Always allow, and Write/delete tools to Needs approval.
Option 2. Connect to Claude Desktop via configuration
Claude Desktop cannot send a custom header on its own. It connects through the mcp-remote bridge, so you'll need to install Node.js first.
Open Settings → Developer → Edit Config.
2. Add the following configuration, save the file, and restart Claude Desktop:
{
"mcpServers": {
"dripify": {
"command": "npx",
"args": ["mcp-remote", "https://app.dripify.com/api/v1/mcp",
"--header", "X-Api-Key: dp_your_key"]
}
}
}
3. Replace dp_your_key with your Dripify API key.
4. Save the configuration and restart Claude Desktop.
Connect to Codex CLI
Open:
~/.codex/config.toml
2. Add the following configuration:
[mcp_servers.dripify]
url = "https://app.dripify.com/api/v1/mcp"
http_headers = { "X-Api-Key" = "dp_your_key" }
💡 Make sure to replace dp_your_key with your Dripify API key.
Alternatively, you can use an environment variable:
[mcp_servers.dripify]
url = "https://app.dripify.com/api/v1/mcp"
env_http_headers = { "X-Api-Key" = "DRIPIFY_API_KEY" }
Connect to other clients
Dripify MCP uses standard streamable HTTP.
Any client that supports a remote MCP server with a custom header can connect. This includes Cursor, VS Code, Gemini CLI, and Windsurf.
Claude web, Claude mobile, ChatGPT web, and ChatGPT desktop currently can’t connect to the Dripify MCP Server because they require a different authorization method. Support for these clients is coming soon.
Use:
Server address: https://app.dripify.com/api/v1/mcp
Header: X-Api-Key
Header value: your Dripify API key
Then follow your client's instructions for adding a remote MCP server.
Verify the connection
Once you've completed the setup, you can verify the connection by asking your AI tool a simple question about your Dripify account.
For example: List my Dripify campaigns.
If the connection is successful, your campaign names will appear in the response.
Available tools
Once connected, you can use your AI assistant to work with the following Dripify data and actions:
Campaigns
List your campaigns and see which ones are running.
The tool returns:
campaign ID;
name;
status — DRAFT, NOT_ACTIVE, or ACTIVE;
locked status — indicates whether the campaign is locked due to your plan’s campaign limit and therefore unavailable for use.
This is a read-only tool.
Lead lists
List the lead lists inside a campaign and see their collected and remaining lead counts,
The tool returns:
lead list ID;
name;
total number of leads;
number of leads left to collect;
search status;
creation date.
Lead search
Find a lead in your Dripify account by email address or LinkedIn profile URL.
The tool returns:
ID;
public ID;
LinkedIn profile URL;
name;
position;
company;
location;
last action.
Lead upload
Add up to 1,000 LinkedIn profiles to a campaign as a new lead list. The tool returns the newly created list together with the accepted and duplicate counts.
💡 Dripify starts collecting them only once the campaign is Active. You can activate the campaign in Dripify
Example prompts
Here are some examples of what you can ask your AI assistant:
Show me the lead lists in my Q4 Founders campaign and how many leads each one has.
Here are 15 LinkedIn URLs. Add them to Q4 Founders and name the list "Webinar signups".
Take this CSV, keep only the people in Berlin and add them to my Q4 Founders campaign.
Check these 40 profiles against my account and add only the ones I don't have yet. For this type of request, the CSV must contain a location column and leads’ LinkedIn profile URLs.
These are just a few examples. You can use natural language to ask your AI assistant to work with the supported Dripify data and actions.
Limits
Keep the following limits in mind:
You can upload up to 1,000 leads per request. Duplicates within the same request are collapsed and counted.
Every upload creates a new lead list. Adding leads to an existing lead list isn't available yet.
Use standard LinkedIn profile URLs, such as https://www.linkedin.com/in/some-slug. Sales Navigator and Recruiter URLs are not supported.
If a lead search matches more than 100 profiles, it returns an error instead of a partial list.
Troubleshooting
Authorization Issue
Problem: Authorization error
Solution: Copy your API key again, including the dp_ prefix. Make sure the header name is exactly: X-Api-Key
Connection issue
Problem: Claude Desktop reports an npx error
Solution: Install Node.js, then restart Claude Desktop.
Tool Execution Issue
Problem: No Dripify tools appear
Solution: Restart your AI client. Most clients read their configuration only when they start.
Performance Issues
Problem: ‘Lead upload is not enabled for this account’
Solution: Lead upload is still rolling out. Contact Dripify Support to have it enabled.
Problem: Lead search reports too many matches
Solution: The search value matched more than 100 profiles. If you're searching by email, use a personal email address instead of a shared company email address.
Problem: A lead upload timed out
Solution: Don't retry the upload immediately. First, list the campaign's lead lists. The new lead list may already exist, and retrying the upload can create a duplicate.
Problem: Leads were uploaded, but nothing happens
Solution: Check the campaign status. Uploaded leads move only when the campaign is Active.
